Comment 2: Snow White Annotations
Similar to Brothers Grimm Snow White, the video piece I created portrays the concept of maturation. The motif of the colors red, white, and black that are seen in the reading are also visible in my art. I was so mind blown by the connection they both had and decided to add this to my portfolio to show the assignment that made me excited for the class.
Comment 3: First RA Outline
This was the first outline that I had created for my RA essay. When writing this, I was still not completely sure what the RA was and what it required me to do. I had a basic idea, but I was still confused. Therefore, the outline is shallow and does not have a deep analysis.
Comment 4: Final RA Outline
In contrast to the first RA outline, this outline was created after I went to office hours and got guidance from my instructor. I no longer had confusion about my task. Comparing this outline to the first one, this outline is more detailed. This can be seen from the length of the paragraphs.
Comment 5: Revision Sheet
This is the revision sheet that I created after writing the first rough draft of my RA. It contains a detailed outline of the essay's content. Because I felt like my ideas did not transition smoothly, I created this to better visual what areas needed more information. The areas that need more meaning are highlighted by my green notes. Creating an outline after writing the draft made it easier for me to find my strengths and weaknesses. It was very useful and I plan on implementing this for my future classes. Also, finding my own areas of concern and improvement made me more reflective of my abilities and work.
Comment 6: RA Mind Map
Since I was aware that my writing is not the best, I knew I wanted to improve. I had never used mind maps before, but I decided to try it out for my writing assignments and it was actually very useful. This is because rather than a bullet point outline which is vertically linear, a mind map creates groupings that are easier to visualize.
I made the mind map to bring to office hours. I did not know what office hours were going to be like, so I wanted to be prepared. That is why I created the revision sheet and mind map. Just in case I was asked about a choice I made in the essay, I would have a visual diagram to support my reasoning. Mind maps were very helpful and I will continue using them whenever I need to brainstorm.

Comment 7: Refined RA Outline
This is the refined structure of my essay. Because I kept updating and looking over my essay, I ended up with a draft I was happy with. Compared to my outline in the beginning of the writing process, the transitions of this outline flow better and the claims are stronger.
Comment 10: RIP Essay Structure
Again, I created an outline after I finished writing my essay. While reading the essay I noticed that each paragraph felt too separate and did not have transitions, so made notes in this outline of how I wanted to move around certain paragraphs to make the essay more coherent. Additionally, I highlighted words that I repeated too much throughout the essay and I cut those down. This process made the content of my essay more precise and easier to follow.
